Community-associated meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus: the case for a genotypic definition

New definitions are needed for community-associated meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) strains, as current epidemiological definitions are becoming obsolete. Genetic characterization is proposed for accurate identification and tracking of CA-MRSA.
