CT-guided percutaneous conformal cryoablation is a safe and effective treatment for non-small cell lung cancer in patients ineligible for surgery. This minimally invasive method shows high response rates and tumor reduction over 24 months.

  • Significant reduction in tumor size observed, with average CT values decreasing from 32±10 HU to -21±8 HU.
  • At 24 months, complete response was achieved in 83.7% of patients, and partial response in 16.3%.
  • No cases of stable or progressive disease were noted; 3 patients died due to distant metastases.

Conclusions:

  • CT-guided percutaneous conformal cryoablation is a safe and effective therapeutic option for peripheral lung cancer.
