  • Patient-reported outcomes were assessed using the Abbreviated Profile of Hearing Aid Benefit (APHAB) and an Esteem questionnaire.
  • Main Results:

    • Mean PTA gain was 25 ± 11 dB, mean WRS gain at 50 dB SPL was 64 ± 33%, and mean AWRS gain was 40 ± 20%.
    • WRS in silence was 91 ± 11%, with significant performance in noise.
    • The APHAB questionnaire indicated an 84% improvement in satisfaction compared to previous hearing aids.

    Conclusions:

    • The Esteem 2 offers good functional and satisfaction results for eligible patients.
    • Careful patient selection, including audiological and anatomical assessments, is essential.
    • The implant is safe, with complications comparable to other auditory implants, necessitating specific surgical training.
