[Immuno-allergic interstitial nephritis: steroids yes or no?]
1Département de médecine, Hôpital cantonal universitaire, Genève.
Abstract:
Clinical decision analysis computer programs are now being developed and can guide the physician facing difficult options. The clinical example chosen here is that of a 58-year-old patient with acute interstitial nephritis, and the question to be answered is: are steroids indicated? The result suggests that, in view of the high mortality associated with dialysis, a trial with steroids is warranted.
