Bronchodilators modulate inflammation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease subjects

Tiotropium demonstrated superior anti-inflammatory effects in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients compared to formoterol. Tiotropium reduced superoxide and leukotriene B₄ (LTB₄) production by neutrophils, unlike formoterol.

- Tiotropium reduces neutrophil superoxide and LTB₄ production, suggesting enhanced anti-inflammatory activity.
