Counselling attitudes in health visiting students

All health visitors have a counselling function as part of their jobs. When visiting people in their homes they are frequently asked to discuss personal problems and emotional difficulties. It would be helpful if all health visitors developed specific counselling skills say Philip Burnard and Paul Morrison who here describe the results of a piece of research into counselling skills among a group of health visiting students.
