    Background:

    • Auranofin (AF) is an orally absorbed gold compound investigated for rheumatoid arthritis treatment.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the inhibitory effects of Auranofin (AF) on DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis.
    • To assess the impact of AF on cell viability and morphology.

    Main Methods:

    • Utilized RAJI lymphoma, HeLa carcinoma, and EBV-transformed cells.
    • Measured 3H-thymidine, 3H-uridine, and 3H-leucine uptake to assess synthesis inhibition.
