Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the association between cognitive activity frequency and cognitive function in older Hispanics.
  • To compare this association with that observed in non-Hispanic White and non-Hispanic Black individuals.
  • To explore the potential for cognitive activity interventions to mitigate cognitive decline in Hispanic elders.

  • A multiethnic cohort of 1571 non-demented older adults was analyzed.
  • Data included past/current cognitive activity, childhood/middle-age home cognitive resources, and five cognitive function domains.

  • Future research should focus on developing and implementing such targeted interventions.
