[Clinical typology of atypical depression in bipolar and unipolar affective disorders]
Abstract:
Forty-six patients with the DSM-IV diagnosis of atypical depression have been examined using clinical-psychopathological and psychometric methods. Based on prevailing symptoms, three types of atypical depression have been singled out: atypical depression with mood reactivity, atypical depression with inverted autonomous symptoms and atypical depression with rejection sensitivity. Sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of each variant are presented and their representation in the structure of bipolar and unipolar depressive disorder is determined as well.
