A bladder leiomyoma, a rare benign tumor, caused urinary symptoms in a 42-year-old woman. Surgical excision via a transurethral approach successfully removed the mass, resolving her symptoms.

  • This case highlights a symptomatic presentation in a middle-aged woman.

Observation:

  • A 42-year-old female presented with dysuria and incomplete voiding.
  • Imaging revealed a smooth, well-defined intramural bladder mass.
  • Urinalysis showed Escherichia coli; blood studies were normal.

Findings:

  • CT and MRI confirmed an intramural bladder mass with intact overlying mucosa.
  • Transurethral resection revealed a well-circumscribed intramural mass.
  • Histopathological examination confirmed the mass as a leiomyoma.

Implications:

  • Symptomatic bladder leiomyomas require accurate diagnosis and surgical management.
  • Transurethral resection is a viable option for removing these intramural masses.
  • Early diagnosis and treatment can lead to favorable patient outcomes.
