Summary

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) with Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) genes can cause recurrent skin abscesses. This emerging PVL syndrome affects otherwise healthy individuals, presenting as necrotic skin lesions.
