Real-space refinement with DireX: from global fitting to side-chain improvements.

We developed DireX, a real-space structure refinement program for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) density maps. DireX uses Deformable Elastic Network (DEN) restraints and grouped occupancy refinement to improve atomic model accuracy from low-resolution maps.
