Summary
Aneurysmal bone cysts in a young boy's finger bone were treated with surgery after initial curettage failed. The successful diaphysectomy and bone graft preserved bone growth, restoring normal length and function.
Area of Science:
- Orthopedic surgery
- Pediatric bone pathology
Background:
- Aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) are benign, expansile bone lesions.
- Proximal phalanx ABCs are rare, especially in skeletally immature patients.
