Summary
Parasitic infections can alter host appetite by changing levels of appetite-regulating hormones. This study found Taenia taeniaformis larvae infection lowered leptin and increased neuropeptide-Y (NPY) in mice, suggesting parasite manipulation of host feeding behaviors.
