Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the outcomes of various reduction methods for traumatic posterior hip dislocation in pediatric patients.
  • To identify factors influencing treatment success and long-term results.
  • To provide evidence-based recommendations for the management of pediatric hip dislocations.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 22 pediatric patients (22 hips) with traumatic posterior hip dislocation treated between 1995 and 2007.
  • Classification of dislocations based on the Thompson and Epstein criteria.
  • Categorization of reduction procedures into three variants: closed reduction, adductor tenotomy with psoas lengthening and Kirschner wire insertion, and soft-tissue interposition removal.
