  • Utilized socio-demographic data, motor performance tests, physical activity levels, and the Geriatric Depression Scale.
  • Statistical analysis included Mann-Whitney U test, chi-square, Spearman correlation, and Poisson regression.

  • A negative association was observed between depressive symptoms and motor performance across all tested motor skills.
  • Elderly individuals with depressive symptoms exhibited 58% to 82% greater functional limitations compared to non-depressed individuals.

  • An inverse relationship exists between depressive symptoms and motor performance in the elderly.
