Background:

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) significantly impacts lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).
Traditional prostatectomy methods can involve substantial morbidity.
Single-port surgery offers a minimally invasive alternative.

Observation:

A 64-year-old male with symptomatic BPH underwent a single-port transvesical prostatectomy.
The procedure utilized the Gel Point Single Port System for access.
The adenoma was dissected and removed through the single infra-umbilical incision.

Findings:

The surgery was completed in 55 minutes with 180 ml blood loss.
Postoperative recovery was uneventful, with discharge at 36 hours.
Significant improvement in International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and maximum urinary flow rate was observed.

Implications:

Single-port transvesical prostatectomy is a viable and safe option for managing large prostates.
This technique may reduce patient recovery time and hospital stay.
Further research can explore its broader application in BPH treatment.
