Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of an undergraduate teaching and research program utilizing at-risk horses.
  • To explore the potential of leveraging media interest in rescue horses for program funding and sustainability.
  • To assess the impact of the program on student learning, career development, and research output.

Main Methods:

  • Initiated a unique undergraduate program using young, at-risk horses needing rescue.
