  • To introduce and apply a log-linear model for case-parent triad studies.
  • To investigate maternal and fetal effects, and their interaction, on CL/P risk.
  • To analyze the association between MTHFR C677T genotype and CL/P.

  • Log-linear models were used to analyze MTHFR C677T associations with CL/P in 145 case-parent triads.
  • Maternal carriage of two MTHFR C677T variant alleles significantly reduced CL/P risk (S2=0.43, 95% CI: 0.19-0.95).
