Newly diagnosed hyperthyroidism impairs left ventricular diastolic function. Advanced echocardiography techniques, including pulmonary venous flow and Tissue Doppler imaging, are more sensitive for detecting this diastolic dysfunction than conventional methods.

- Combining pulmonary venous flow, Tissue Doppler imaging, and mitral inflow during Valsalva maneuver offers superior sensitivity for diagnosing diastolic dysfunction compared to conventional Doppler echocardiography.
