Probiotic supernatants from Lactobacillus species inhibit colon cancer cell invasion by reducing matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and increasing zona occludens-1 (ZO-1) protein levels. These findings suggest a potential role for probiotics in managing colorectal cancer metastasis.
