Activating KIR2DS5 receptor is a risk for thyroid cancer

Activating Killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) genes, particularly KIR2DS5, were more prevalent in thyroid cancer patients. This suggests a potential role for these immune system genes in promoting tumor growth.
