Should the hemoglobin A1c diagnostic cutoff differ between blacks and whites? A cross-sectional study

Black Americans show increased retinopathy risk at lower Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels compared to white Americans. This study suggests current diagnostic thresholds are appropriate for all populations, despite differing HbA1c levels.
