Abstract:
Thin films of transition metal nitrides are interesting materials due to their special features such as high hardness and chemical inertness. In our present work, we are reporting Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis of FeN/Si system using 100 MeV Au beam. Recoils ions were detected using ΔE-E detector telescope. Diffraction pattern of pristine FeN thin films indicates amorphous nature of iron nitride thin film. MOKE results show irradiation can be used for controlling the magnetic properties such as coercivity.
