Background:

  • Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a distinct subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Purpose of the Study:

  • To review the clinical outcomes of adult patients with APL treated at a specific department.
  • To evaluate the efficacy of induction therapy and identify factors influencing patient prognosis.
  • To highlight challenges in APL management, particularly regarding treatment accessibility in developing countries.

  • Retrospective review of 18 adult APL patients treated between January 2006 and December 2011.
