Main Results:

  • The complete sequence of the 3.126 kb pJP5603 vector was determined.
  • The vector contains a kanamycin resistance cassette for selection.
  • A lacZ-α system enabling blue-white screening of cloned fragments was identified.

Conclusions:

  • The pJP5603 vector is a well-characterized, mobilizable suicide vector.
  • Its reliance on the pir-encoded π protein and its selectable markers make it suitable for specific genetic applications.
  • This sequencing data facilitates the use and further development of pJP5603 in molecular biology research.
