Association between the CTGF -945C/G polymorphism and systemic sclerosis: a meta-analysis.

- Stratified analysis revealed that the CC/CG genotype significantly decreased systemic sclerosis susceptibility in Asians (OR=0.632, 95% CI: 0.459-0.869) under a dominant model, while no association was found in Caucasians.

- This meta-analysis suggests that the CC/CG genotype of the CTGF -945C/G polymorphism is associated with a reduced risk of systemic sclerosis in Asian populations.
- Larger, prospective global studies are recommended to further investigate the relationship between CTGF -945C/G polymorphism and systemic sclerosis, particularly in diverse subpopulations.
