    Summary

    Elevated serum angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) levels may indicate ocular sarcoidosis, even without systemic disease. This finding aids in diagnosing chronic granulomatous uveitis when other causes are unknown.

    Background:

    • Ocular sarcoidosis diagnosis is often presumptive without systemic involvement.

    • To investigate the utility of serum ACE levels in diagnosing ocular sarcoidosis.
    • To determine if elevated ACE levels are present in patients with chronic granulomatous uveitis but no systemic sarcoidosis.

    • Utilized a sensitive fluorimetric assay to measure serum ACE levels.
    • Analyzed ACE levels in patients with chronic granulomatous uveitis and no systemic sarcoid.
