Single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4 (IRAK-4) gene show a genetic link to allergic rhinitis (AR). This IRAK-4 gene association with AR is dependent on specific allergens like house dust mites in the Chinese population.
