Fixed mandibular complete denture prostheses supported by mandibular staple bone plate implant

The staple bone plate implant has been used to stabilize and retain an mandibular overdenture. This implant-with-pin configuration, with four pins penetrating the bone and mucosa, was used to support a mandibular fixed complete denture. The prosthesis was completely implant supported. All of the occlusal loads were directed to the bone through the implant pins. Results for six patients were reported. The implant and the prosthesis were well tolerated.
