  • Tracheal FEPs are exceptionally rare, posing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to their infrequent occurrence.
  • Literature review highlights limited documented cases and varied management strategies for tracheal FEPs.

Observation:

  • A 40-year-old woman presented with symptoms attributed to a tracheal polyp.
  • The polyp was identified as a fibroepithelial lesion within the trachea.
  • Diagnostic workup confirmed the benign nature of the lesion.

Findings:

  • Successful endoscopic removal of the tracheal polyp was achieved using endobronchial electrocautery.
  • The procedure was well-tolerated with no immediate complications.
  • Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of a fibroepithelial polyp.

Implications:

  • Endobronchial electrocautery represents a viable and minimally invasive treatment option for select tracheal fibroepithelial polyps.
  • This case expands the understanding of FEP management in the trachea.
  • Highlights the importance of considering FEPs in the differential diagnosis of tracheal masses, even when rare.
