A common clathrin-mediated machinery co-ordinates cell-cell adhesion and bacterial internalization

Clathrin, a protein involved in cell entry, also plays a role in cell-cell adhesion by aiding adherens junction (AJ) formation and recruiting proteins for actin rearrangement. This suggests a shared clathrin machinery regulates both cell adhesion and internalization.
