Abstract:
Chemotherapy delivered by infusion has developed in the last decade, primarily as a consequence of advances in technology but perhaps also because of increasing scientific understanding of pharmacology and tumor cell kinetics. Although few prospective, randomized trials have compared infusion-delivery with bolus-delivery schedules, those that have been performed have found that the infusion schedule provides at least a comparable response rate while improving drug toxicity.
