Purpose of the Study:

  • To develop and validate a novel questionnaire (Orthopaedic Handedness Questionnaire - OHQ) for assessing laterality specifically in orthopaedic surgeons.
  • To compare the newly developed OHQ with an established handedness assessment tool, the Waterloo Handedness Questionnaire (WHQ).
  • To evaluate the extent of non-dominant hand usage among orthopaedic surgeons.

Main Methods:

  • A cohort of 62 orthopaedic surgeons participated in the study.
  • Surgeons completed both the validated Waterloo Handedness Questionnaire (WHQ) and the self-developed Orthopaedic Handedness Questionnaire (OHQ).
