Association between multiple cutaneous melanoma and other primary neoplasms

Patients with multiple primary melanomas (MPM) face a higher risk of developing subsequent cancers (SPC), particularly nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC). Careful monitoring is crucial for early detection of new malignancies in these individuals.

- Men with skin phototype II are particularly susceptible.
- Close monitoring is vital for detecting not only melanoma recurrence but also other new malignancies, particularly NMSC.
