New blood tests can predict dangerous blood sugar swings in diabetics. The glycated albumin to HbA1c (GA/A1c) ratio and fasting C-peptide to glucose (FCPR) index identify patients needing closer monitoring for hyperglycaemia and hypoglycaemia.
