Purpose of the Study:

To highlight the necessity for health system reform.
To emphasize the importance of nursing measures in healthcare reimbursement.
To explore the potential of Nursing-Sensitive Value-Based Purchasing (NSVBP).

Main Methods:

Review of medical, governmental, institutional, and lay literature.
Analysis of the necessity, implementation, and impact of NSVBP.
Examination of nursing-sensitive indicators for value-based purchasing.

Main Results:

Adverse events and mortality are significantly influenced by nurse staffing and skill mix.
The National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) provides suitable nursing-sensitive measurements.
