This case report details a rare instance of bilateral simultaneous acute corneal hydrops in a patient with Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA). This presentation may indicate an underlying, previously undiagnosed keratoconus.

  • Ophthalmologists should consider screening for keratoconus in patients presenting with unusual corneal hydrops.
  • Further research is warranted to explore the relationship between LCA and keratoconus.
