Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • 21 right-hemisphere (RH) and 22 left-hemisphere (LH) stroke patients, plus 20 controls, performed a single-detection task (CVRT) and a dual task (CVRT-D).
  • The dual task combined the CVRT with a driving simulation to increase attentional load.
  • Omissions, reaction times (RTs), and RT asymmetries were analyzed to assess neglect severity and attentional load effects.

  • RT asymmetries were most pronounced in RH patients.
