Erythema infectiosum--the fifth disease: case report

A case of erythema infectiosum (fifth disease) is discussed. As it is a childhood illness that initially presents with a facial rash, the oral and maxillofacial surgeon will often be the first practitioner to diagnose this interesting, but benign, disease.
