Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare ocular aberrations induced by center-near multifocal SCLs versus single vision SCLs.
  • To evaluate the impact of these induced aberrations on contrast sensitivity function (CSF).

Main Methods:

  • Ocular aberrometry was performed on 18 subjects wearing various multifocal and single vision SCLs.
  • Zernike polynomials were used to quantify aberrations for different pupil sizes.
  • Contrast sensitivity function (CSF) was measured at 6 m, 1 m, and 40 cm.
