Purpose of the Study:

To assess the psychometric properties of a revised Caring Behaviors Assessment (CBA) instrument.
To identify nurse caring behaviors most valued by parents of pediatric patients in an emergency setting.
To examine the importance of specific nurse caring behaviors within the context of family-centered care.

Main Methods:

A descriptive study utilizing a revised Caring Behaviors Assessment (CBA).
Psychometric evaluation including content validity index (CVI) and internal consistency reliability (Cronbach's alpha).
Survey administered to 300 parents of pediatric emergency patients using stratified, systematic random sampling.

Main Results:

The revised CBA instrument demonstrated strong validity (CVI = 3.75) and reliability (Cronbach's alpha = .971).
