  • Small but significant improvements were observed in overall function (MD 5.2), physical function (MD 5.3), and mental function (MD 3.1).
  • RTW coordination also led to a reduction in pain (MD 6.1).

Conclusions:

  • RTW coordination offers small relative but important absolute benefits for return to work.
  • Associated improvements in function and pain are likely significant for patients.
  • Further research is needed on long-term persistence of effects and cost-effectiveness.
