  • The patient presented with double triggering of the EDM tendon.
  • Impingement of the EDM tendon on the extensor retinaculum caused triggering at the dorsal wrist.
  • A second triggering point was noted over the metacarpal head, also due to impingement.

Implications:

  • This case expands the understanding of extensor tendon triggering mechanisms.
  • It emphasizes the importance of considering impingement on the extensor retinaculum in EDM double triggering.
  • Surgical considerations for EDM triggering may need to address multiple impingement sites.
