Renaming the journal: viability of the psychodynamic metaphor

Abstract:
The recent change in the name of the Academy's Journal reflects the bold recognition of a new era in our field. The decision also recognizes increasing scientific focus on the importance of relationship and mind, and emphasizes the need for further innovation in our basic assumptions. Similar challenges face competing publications. With ideas, as with individuals, strength and flexibility will be vital to preserve progress, which is already resonating with developments in sociological, historical, and economic spheres.
