Summary

Grip dynamometry accurately measures overall neurological function in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). For treated CIDP patients, achieving fifth percentile grip strength may be a realistic functional goal.

  • To evaluate the clinical and electrophysiological correlates of hand-held grip dynamometry in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).
  • To assess the utility of normative grip strength values in CIDP patients.

  • A cross-sectional study involving 31 prospectively recruited CIDP patients.
  • Utilized Jamar hand-held grip dynamometry, standard clinical assessments, and electrophysiology.
