Summary

Gallbladder polyps (GBP) management lacks clear guidelines. Cholecystectomy is recommended for polyps >10mm or with biliary pain, while smaller polyps in younger patients may not require surgery.

Purpose:

To analyze the management of gallbladder polyps in Spain.
To review existing literature and treatment standards for GBPs.
To establish criteria for surgical intervention.

Summary:

A review of 30 patients with gallbladder polyps (GBP) found a median age of 51, with 70% being female.
Ultrasound diagnosed GBPs in 19 patients; 11 had biliary pain, and 5 showed no calculi.
