Abstract:
This article provides a summary of the Drug Enforcement Agency's current interpretation of the Controlled Substances Act as it relates to the "constructive transfer" of certain controlled substances from pharmacist to physician for office administration. The article discusses compliance with the Controlled Substances Act in this context and related legislative and legal activities of individual pharmacists and of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists and other groups.
