May T1 diabetes mellitus protect from asthma?

Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) may protect children with allergic rhinitis (AR) from developing asthma. This study found that T1DM and AR in children showed a potential protective effect against asthma development.

- This preliminary research supports the hypothesis that T1DM may protect children with AR from progressing to asthma.
- The findings suggest a potential asthma-protective effect of T1DM in pediatric patients with allergic rhinitis.
