Microtia, a congenital anomaly, is linked to altered microRNA (miRNA) expression. This study identified specific up-regulated and down-regulated miRNAs and their target genes, offering insights into external ear development.

Conclusions:
- Altered expression of miR-200c, miR-451, and miR-486-5p may contribute to abnormal external ear development.
- OSR1 and TRPS1 are potential key target genes in microtia pathogenesis.
- This study is the first to report a link between miRNAs and microtia, necessitating further research.
